Monitors on the midterm

There is a fairly large secion on monitors in Chapter 6 of the book.
Since they were never mentioned in class and are not mentioned on the
recent exams, I assume that we won't have to be familiar with them for
the exam. Is that assumption correct?

Yes, we are not covering monitors (this seems pretty specific to Java to me, and we teach this kind of thing in 433, so I don't cover it in 412).
