When I log into linuxlab.cs, I am told that I do not have permission to
chdir into my home directory:

BEGIN QUOTE:

$ ssh -X ***@linuxlab.cs
***@linuxlab.cs's password:
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Welcome to the CSIC Class Cluster.

Please refer to the web page for information on how to use the
cluster,

http://www.csic.umd.edu/linuxlab

If you have not changed your initial password please do, with the
command, kpasswd.

Also there is a newsgroup hosted on wam's news servers,

csd.csiclab

------------------------------------------------------------------
Could not chdir to home directory /afs/csic/class/cmsc412/0101/cs412010:
Permission denied

END QUOTE.

I tried looking at my home directory permissions, and they appear to be
in order:

BEGIN QUOTE:

[***@churning 0101]$ ls -lad cs412010
drwxrwxrwx 35 cs412010 cs412010 4096 Mar 4 00:00 cs412010

END QUOTE.

Is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks,

I've notified staff, but here's a workaround that does the job:
