Midterm 2 Chapters???

Hey,

Does anyone know
what chapters we
have to study for
the test? I think
in class Prof.
Agrawala mentioned
Chapters: 7-11, 13?,
but I have a 6th
edition of the book,
so I'm unsure what
chapters he
specifically means.
If someone could
type up all the
chapter names of the
current book that
would be great.

In the newer book the chapters are:

7 - Deadlocks
8 - Main memory
9 - Virtual Memory
10 - File-System Interface
11 - File-System Implementation

From what I've heard, there may be more, but the only chapters after that are I/O
Systems (which i'm pretty sure we haven't covered in class) and Mass Storage
Structures (which he's started to go over).

Will any of these chapters be on the exam as well?

I heard that he'll be going over up until page 5 or 6 of Set 12 in the
lecture slides which coincides with going up until section 12.4. So if
that's true it's true, the test will include Chapter 12.1 - 12.3.
